Relax, A Few Minutes Could Save A Life!

With summer just around the corner, as you drive on the roads, there is a good chance you will see farmers travelling them as well. I understand everyone is in a rush, but slowing down for that few minutes could save lives. I have seen so many questionable things happen while travelling trunk 10 on a farm tractor and it is scary by times.
Since today is “Farm Workers Day“, I thought it would be a good time to remind you that safety is always more important than schedule.

Two other things to remember as we see hay making its way to the barns. The slow moving vehicle sign is not lying. This farm machinery is not meant for speed and lots of times it is too wide to haul off the road safely, so please be patient.

AND when that farm vehicle does turn off the road, lots of equipment takes a wide right turn, so stay back and give room for the farmer to get off the road before you pass by.
Here is a friendly reminder of what hand signals look like. I know that is something a lot of us don’t think about, but it is how most farm tractors indicate what they are doing.

Let’s work together to share the road so everyone can enjoy the summer and go home safely each night.
