Poppies Are Here As We Get Ready To Say Farewell To Pumpkins

Today you might see the odd costume since Halloween falls on the weekend this year, but there is something else that is set to make an appearance on October 29th, Poppies! This is the first day of the 2021 Poppy Campaign in support of the Royal Canadian Legion and our veterans.

This year Poppies have also gone virtual. You have the option of a Digital Poppy! Canadians can visit www.MyPoppy.ca and download their Digital Poppy

I remember in elementary school we used to wear a Poppy on our hats. Now even though I have always believed a Poppy anywhere is better than not wearing one at all, there is a proper way to wear this very important symbol.

There has always been two things that historically go along with the Poppy Campaign. One is that there is a good chance you will stab yourself or someone else with the pin and the other is that there is a good chance you will lose your Poppy before November 11th.
