N.S. marks another tragic anniversary

Another somber anniversary for many Nova Scotians.

It’s the one-year anniversary of a Cyclone helicopter crash that killed six Canadian Forces members while on a NATO training mission.
.
The crash happened on April 29, 2020 in the Mediterranean as the chopper was making its way back to HMCS Fredericton in the Ionian Sea.

Three of those onboard had deep connections to Nova Scotia, including Sub Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough of Dartmouth, Captain Brendan Ian MacDonald of New Glasgow and Sub Lieutenant Matthew Pyke of Truro.

The remaining members were from Quebec, B.C. and Ontario.

A memorial for the fallen CAF member was unveiled on Thursday after at CFB Shearwater in Eastern Passage.
