An initiative to showcase local talent in the Municipality of Chester is now accepting submissions.
The Chester Playhouse is searching for students in grades 6-12 to take part in Chester’s Got Talent.
Youth Program Director, Christopher Wilson said the virtual talent show is meant to be fun and not competitive.
“The focus of this competition is to showcase talent and this could be any talent,” Wilson said.” The first thing we thing about is performing arts, but we wanted to encourage potential participants to think outside of the box.”
He said talents could be anything from singing and dancing, to doing tricks with your dog, or even baking.
Wilson hopes this will inspire students to be creative amid the pandemic.
“Unfortunately we are all struggling with the recent lockdown measures,” Wilson explained. “I’m really hoping that people might get excited to put together a video submission with my support and mentorship and share their gifts, whatever the may be with the local community.”
Chester’s Got Talent will be showcased at the end of June.
To register, send an email to CGT@chesterplayhouse.ca and include your name, grade, school or community and talent.
The deadline to register is May 28th.
