Mariners use territorial selection to draft goalie Noah Muise

The Yarmouth Mariners have added a local goaltender to their club.

Noah Muise of Lower Wedgeport was taken with a territorial selection ahead of Saturday’s MHL Draft in Truro.

Muise played for the South Shore Mustangs in the NS U-18 Major League last season.

The 16-year-old posted a 3.40 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 21 starts with the team.

MHL clubs were able to announce up to two territorial picks Monday.

The Mariners hold the third overall selection in the draft.

Muise excited to get going

Muise says it’s a dream come true.

He says he grew up watching the team at Mariners Centre.

“It will be awesome for the community to have local players, I know Laurie (Barron) very well. It’s very exciting, and I can’t wait.”

Muise adds he’s looking forward to training camp in August.
