Sweltering weather is about to hit the Maritime provinces.
Environment Canada has already issued heat warnings for New Brunswick for Tuesday through Thursday.
By Wednesday, temperatures could exceed 30C across Nova Scotia
According to the Weather Network, “a strong ridge of high pressure will build over the eastern U.S. and the Great Lakes, sending temperatures into the 30s and humidex values into the 40s.”
Record-breaking humidex values are possible across the region.
Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.
Environment Canada advises to watch for “early signs of heat illness (feeling unwell, fatigue, thirst, headache) as these can rapidly evolve into life-threatening emergencies.”
Be sure to drink plenty of water – and if you’re working outside, take regular breaks in a shady or cool area.
