This is not a good thing…. after a 6.2 cent increase overnight, we wake up to the highest gas prices in our province’s history. I now feel it is appropriate to tell stories about “when I started driving.” I remember pulling up to the pump and putting $20 in the tank for a night of driving. Now $20 at pump 3 will get you to pump 4… it is scary, over $1.50 a litre and the prediction that prices will continue to climb. So what can you do? I have heard a lot of people talking about getting a horse, so I looked into it…
A HORSE = the average monthly cost of $900, depending on where you keep your horse.
So that doesn’t look like it will really save money.
There is always the idea of staying home, with more and more options for working from home available. But after two years, that is getting old.
The question is though, when things start to open up, will anyone be able to afford to go anywhere or do anything as costs go up.
I am not even going to get into the fact that some oil companies are now increasing minimum deliveries of heating oil by a hundred bucks. Problem I see is that the paycheck is the same as it was.
So back to driving and what we can do to battle higher gas prices. Here are a few tips that are supposed to help. I don’t drive new fuel efficient vehicles, but even for those of us with the old trucks, some of these tips will hopefully help.
