4 N.S. communities receive Community Spirit Award

Four “outstanding” communities in Nova Scotia have received a Community Spirit Award.

The province says it’s for demonstrating exceptional commitment to civic engagement, support for residents as well as promoting and preserving rich history.

The recipients are:
– Arisaig, Antigonish County
– Beechville, Halifax Regional Municipality
– Isle Madame, Richmond County
– L’sitkuk (Bear River First Nation).

“I am thrilled to honour communities that have gone above and beyond in promoting positive change and collective growth,” said Lt.-Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc.

“Their dedication is truly inspirational, and I eagerly anticipate presenting these well-deserved awards in the weeks to come.”

Since 2008, 57 communities have received the award.

The ceremonies will take place later this year.
