Check Before You Move Wood Across County Lines!!

I finally have the firewood split and piled and drying for this winter. If you are still working on that task, or waiting on your firewood to be delivered from another county, this announcement could change your plans.
The updated list of areas restricting the movement of wood from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to contain the insect Hemlock Woolly Adelgid includes much of the South Shore.

Something to keep in mind as well if you are planning a camping trip. Looks like you may have to buy firewood when you get there depending on your destination.
This is all in an attempt to save the Nova Scotia hemlock, so please do your part to prevent the spread of the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.
