Lunenburg District RCMP are investigating a motorcycle accident which shut down Highway 3 for two hours Thursday morning.
Police were notified around 9:00 a.m. to a motorcycle accident on Highway 3 in Spectacle Lakes.
A statement Thursday from RCMP confirmed a motorcycle was traveling northbound when it left the road and struck a guardrail, ejecting the 16 year-old rider.
The motorcycle rider suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Lifeflight.
Police say the motorcycle was also seized for further investigation.
