I know it is a touchy subject in 2022, COWS.
I say they are great, delicious even, but that is the beef farmer in me, haha. I drink milk, love cheese and I have never found a substitute for fresh ground burger or steak.
The other side of cows I see is that they are friendly and the calves are so darn cute.
This weekend was dedicated to making hay for the critters and they seemed excited watching all the action from the other side of the fence.
Now there is a strengthening movement for cows to roam wild and free, but that is not how they existed here in North America.
When explorers arrived they did not find cow nests with baby bovines and tame them. They were brought here for food… true story.
They are also not single handedly gassing the planet to extinction. Now in saying that, I am talking about the critters grazing in the pasture, not some crowded feedlot. But when the math is done, cows are not as bad as some lead us to believe. As you will see in this documentary, should you want to watch it, haha. Even people dispersing gas is helping to pollute the planet.
Are farts disgusting? Hilarious? Beneficial? This filmmaker sets out to discover the truth.
Cows are actually not all bad. Here are a few good things that cows do. Since it is Cow Appreciation Day, take a peak.
