UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch continues for southwest N.S.

UPDATE: A severe thunderstorm warning has been downgraded to a watch in Yarmouth and Digby counties.

A watch remains in effect for Shelburne and Queens counties.

Strong winds and localized torrential rainfall may occur with up to 25 mm per hour or possibly higher.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads

The forecaster also advises that lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
