The province’s top doctor says COVID-19 contact tracing is no longer needed in schools.
During yesterday’s briefing, Dr. Robert Strang addressed parent-led groups that are keeping track of contact tracing online.
“While I appreciate that people want to help, and feel that the information is important, there really is no additional benefit in school settings to have that contact tracing,” says Strang.
He says relying on government to give you an exposure notice can give a false sense of security, as the Omicron variant is all around us.
The group ‘Nova Scotia Parents for Public Education’ have been keeping track on a spreadsheet.
In a series of tweets, the group says parents and families want this information, to prove what they’re being told about school safety is true.
