N.S. To Maine Ferry Service To Return In May

We have a start date for the Nova Scotia to Maine ferry service.

The CAT will set sail again on May 19th.

It will run four days a week until June 22nd, leaving Yarmouth at 9:30 a.m. each day, and returning around 7:30 p.m.

From June 22nd to September 7th, the service will run everyday, before reducing to a six day schedule to close out the season.

The Bay Ferries operated vessel hasn’t run since 2018 due to the pandemic and construction at the Bar Harbor terminal.

Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood says it’s exciting to see a firm date for the service to return.

“Lots of folks will be coming into town, that means room nights, restaurants and shopping will get a boost. It’s all those things that we need to survive, and to thrive,” says Mood.

She says the town will be ready to host visitors.

“Getting ready again is a matter of making sure that shops and restaurants are open when passengers get off the ferry, and making sure that the town is looking in its best shape.”

The company says ticket sales are now open, and awareness campaigns will intensify as the season gets closer.
