MODL approves emergency funding for non-profits impacted by COVID

Some more emergency assistance funding is available to not-for-profit organizations that operate community facilities in the District of Lunenburg.

At a regular council meeting on Feb. 8, the MODL approved a fourth round of funding for organizations that lost money because fundraising events or activities were cancelled due to COVID-19.

Funding can be accessed to cover lost revenue from fundraising events or activities cancelled between Oct. 1, 2021 and March 1, 2022.

Organizations can also apply for funding to cover annual or weekly events that weren’t planned due to public health restrictions.

Applications are due at the municipal office by 4:30 on March 1st.

Since starting the emergency funding for community organizations program, the MODL has donated a total of $322,406 to community organizations that operate community facilities.
