The operating season for the province’s day use parks ends on Monday.
The public can still use them after Monday but there won’t be any parks staff or services like garbage collection, washrooms or snow removal.
It will also be the last weekend for camping in Nova Scotia.
While the majority of parks have reopened following Hurricane Fiona, there are still some that are closed.
The following parks have sustained significant damage and will remain closed for the remainder of the 2022 season:
- Five Islands (camping and day-use areas)
- Amherst Shore
- Heather Beach
- Bell
- Dollar Lake (camping and day-use areas)
- Arisaig
- Mira River (camping and day-use areas)
- Lochiel Lake
- Caribou-Munroes Island (camping and day-use areas)
- Melmerby Beach
- Powells Point
- Rushtons
- Salt Springs
- Cape Smokey
The following parks are closed until further notice:
- Tatamagouche
- Beaver Mountain
- Petersfield
- Salsman
- West Mabou Beach
- Greenhill
- Cabot Landing
- Uisge Bàn Falls
