So Many Christmas Lights, You Just Have To Decide Which Events To Attend

Christmas is starting to light up for another exciting year. Next weekend will be a tough one, having to decide which lighting event you will attend to kick of the glow of Christmas 2023.
There is a LONG list of events and here are the ones we have listed under our “Events” section at CJHK.ca:

Then as the season continues there are other events planned that you can take in:

There may be more that I am missing, so please send along any other events that we should be aware of to us at CJHK.CA
We do have a lot of the South Shore lightings planned for next weekend, but if you simply can not wait, there is the parade of lights in Halifax planned for THIS Saturday. According to the websites promoting this event, the 28th annual will go ahead rain or shine. There has been a Special Weather Statement issued for Saturday, so best we can hope for is that the rain tapers off by the evening.

The 28th Annual SaltWire Holiday Parade of Lights presented by Eastlink will once again light up Downtown Halifax on November 18, 2023, starting at 6 p.m

The other important lighting that requires a lot more travel to watch in person is the Boston Tree Lighting on Nov. 30, 2023 around 6pm. Our province’s thank you gift for helping Nova Scotia in a time of great need. An idea that started in Lunenburg Country back in 1971:

The annual gift was started by the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association to promote Christmas tree exports as well as acknowledge the Boston support after the explosion. The gift was taken over by the Nova Scotia Government in 1976 to continue the goodwill gesture and to promote trade and tourism.

The tree has been cut and will hit the road to Boston this weekend.
