N.S. schools celebrating Black Excellence Day for the first time ever

If you see more students getting off the bus wearing black on Friday, it’s because of an inaugural celebration in our province.

For the first time, Nova Scotia’s public schools are celebrating Black Excellence Day.

It’s a show of support to celebrate the success of Black students.

There are over 8,000 Black students in the school system and 80 per cent of all graduates plan to go to college or university.

You are encouraged to use the #NSBlackExcellence when posting photos to socials.
