Man charged after striking vehicles, fleeing police in Lunenburg County

A 40-year-old man from Conquerall Mills is facing several charges after an incident in Lunenburg County where he struck multiple vehicles while trying to flee from police.

On September 23, at around 12:15 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in Mader’s Cove, where a beige Lincoln Town Car was seen hitting a parked tractor.

Officers located the vehicle in Blockhouse, but the driver refused to stop and fled the area.

The car was later found on the side of Highway 103 near Oakhill, where police took steps to prevent further attempts to escape. The man hit two police vehicles and resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody. He also refused to provide a breath sample.

The accused appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 24 and is scheduled to return on October 23.

Highway 103 was temporarily closed for about an hour during the arrest but has since reopened.
