SailGP returning to Canada in 2026

Although SailGP isn’t coming back to Halifax in 2025, they could return in 2026.

The team is set to come to Canada that year, but the location is undetermined, according to a news release from Sail GP.

This comes as Greg Bailey, co-founder and chairman of health company Juvenescence, buys the Canadian team.

This is the first time Bailey’s purchased a sports team.

Giles Scott will take over for Team Canada driver Phil Robertson. Scott drove the British team to their win in Halifax.

The 2024/2025 racing season starts in Dubai this November.

‘[Halifax] absolutely lit up for everything Sail GP. The Canadian fans were amazing. They loved it and the conditions were unreal as well,” said Scott in a news release from SailGP.
