Strong winds to blow across parts of N.S. Saturday

You may want to bring your Thanksgiving and Halloween decorations inside for a bit this weekend with very windy conditions in the forecast for much of the province.

A special weather statement has been issued for central and western mainland Nova Scotia.

Northwest winds could gust up to or exceed 90 km/hr in some areas on Saturday starting in the morning. The winds are expected to die down Saturday evening.

Environment Canada says similar events have led to scattered utility outages, delays and cancellations of ferry services, and bridge restrictions for high sided vehicles.
