Major crimes now investigating case of missing man in North Sydney as homicide

The investigation of a 34-year-old missing man in North Sydney, is now being treated as a homicide, under the province’s major crimes unit.

Cape Breton Police say Kenneth “Justin” MacDonald was last seen on security video on July 7 around 11 p.m. at a gas station on 183 Commercial Street, North Sydney.

His vehicle, a blue Kia Forte with NS License Plate #FYZ-715 was then found about 25 km away in the Ormand Crescent Area of Mira Rd.

Police say K9 units, drones and ground search and rescue have attempted to find him.

He is described as 5’9 and 240 lbs with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes.
