Man charged in largest wildfire in N.S. history due back in court

A man charged in the largest wildfire in Nova Scotia’s history is due back in court.

Dalton Clark Stewart of Villagedale, Shelburne County is expected to learn when his trial will be held.

He’s facing three charges under the Forests Act in the Barrington Lake wildfire, which destroyed dozens of homes and structures in 2023.

He pleaded not-guilty earlier this year.

Stewart’s case is scheduled in provincial court on Wednesday and Thursday.
