No timeline for Halifax Walmart to reopen after employee found dead in oven

More than a month after a woman was found dead inside a Halifax Walmart, the company still has no timeline to reopen.

The 19-year-old employee, named Gursimran Kaur, was found on Oct. 19 at the Mumford Road location.

Renovations began before the incident, and spokesperson Amanda Moss says it will be several weeks before they are done.

Walmart officials previously said they would remove the walk-in bakery oven.

Through their investigation, Halifax police determined the death was not suspicious.

A GoFundMe for Kaur’s family raised nearly $200,000 to help bring her father and brother to Halifax from India.
