Mooseheads fall to Quebec in Game 6

Heartbreak for Mooseheads fans.

They lost Game 6 of the Q-league final 5-4 on Sunday at home to the Quebec Remparts.

Zach L’Heureux scored late to put Halifax up 4-3, but the Remparts would strike twice in the final minutes to win their first championship in 47 years.

Pier-Olivier Roy’s winner came with 59 seconds left to stun the sold-out Scotiabank Centre crowd.

Quebec’s James Malatesta was named playoff MVP.

They head to the Memorial Cup in Kelowna to face the host Rockets, the WHL champion Seattle Thunderbirds, and the OHL champion Peterborough Petes.

It’s the fifth time the QMJHL championship has been awarded in Halifax, and the fourth time it’s gone to the visiting team.
