Thousand of athletes in town for North American Indigenous Games

More than 5,000 athletes are coming into town representing over 750 Indigenous Nations for one of the largest sporting events to hit the Maritimes.

The North American Indigenous Games is set to begin Saturday, July 15 and will run until next Saturday, July 22.

Hotels are filled and the city of Halifax will be buzzing.

The athletes will participate in 16 different sports and 21 different venues spread over the province, but the majority will be in Halifax.
