RCMP arrest Colchester County man who fired a gun at a group of teens

A Colchester County man was arrested this weekend after shooting a gun at a group of teenagers.

An 18-year-old, 16-year-old and 15-year-old were riding their ATVs near Glenholme Marsh Road in Little Dyke last night when a 47-year-old man came out of a nearby house with a gun and shot at them. The teens sped off on their ATVs and the man fired a second shot in their direction. Thankfully, nobody was injured.

The RCMP responded to the scene at around 7:00 p.m. and secured the area. They negotiated with the suspect over the phone, and he followed all orders including to come out of the house with his hands up. He was safely arrested and was held in custody overnight. Officers also executed a search warrant on the home and seized a firearm and ammunition.

He is set to stand trial and faces multiple gun charges, including illegally discharging a firearm.
