Our Athlete of the Week is 17-year-old Tanner Wood of Kings County.
Sports Organization: Football, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, JV Basketball
Tanner is believed to be the first athlete in Nova Scotia to play 5 high school sports before the Christmas break.
He is the Assistant Captain and Centre for his Hockey Team. A goalie and mid field in soccer. A punter , kicker and plays defensive end for football. An outfielder for baseball team. A tenacious defensive player, ferocious rebounder for JV basketball team.
If the scheduling works (unknown and pending) out he could possibly be the first athlete to play 3 different school sports in one day. Soccer, football and hockey on Oct 28th.
We are not sure if that did happen or not, but as Athlete of the Week, Tanner won $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater
