Carolyn Bolivar Getson appointed as President of Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities

Mayor Carolyn Bolivar Getson of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg has been elected as the new head of the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities (NSFM). This comes as she continues to fulfill her duties in her existing mayoral position.

In her dual role, Mayor Getson will actively champion the concerns faced by municipal governments across the province. The transition of leadership follows the commendable term of Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton of Port Hawkesbury, who was acknowledged by the board for her dedicated service.

Simultaneously, MODL Councilor Cassidy Veinott has been appointed as the NSFM South Shore Representative, which was vacated by Bolivar-Getson.
