Mill Village FD requests $275K for new fire truck from Region of Queens

The Mill Village Fire Department is eyeing a new fire truck that costs over $700,000, but they’re asking for help funding it from the Region of Queens.

The truck they’re eyeing is currently in Bridgewater and the seller has placed it on hold until the end of April.

To facilitate the purchase, the department is seeking $275,000 in financial aid from the Region, to be repaid over a 10-year period.

While the Region’s established schedule for assisting fire departments with vehicle acquisitions has lapsed, a proposed schedule could greenlight the requested funding for Mill Village in the upcoming 24-25 budget year.
