42-year-old woman dead after collision on Hwy 104 in New Glasgow

A 42-year-old woman from New Glasgow is dead after a collision on Highway 104 in New Glasgow.

RCMP say it was January 12 around 5:40pm when a Honda CRV travelling east, hit a deer, then was hit from behind by a transport truck.

The woman, and the only one in the CRV, was airlifted to hospital in Halifax, but later died from her injuries.

A 61-year-old New Brunswick man, in the transport truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours near exit 25.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t yet spoken with police is asked to call Pictou County District RCMP at 902-485-4333.
