RCMP search for suspect who allegedly drove over officer’s foot

RCMP is looking for a man who allegedly drove over officer an RCMP officer’s foot during a traffic stop in New Minas.

RCMP say it was last night around 2am when they noticed a Hyundai Tucson driving erratically on Highbury Rd.

When pulled over, the driver refused to provide a breath sample and drove off, running over the officer’s foot.

The suspect’s vehicle stopped shortly after due to what appeared to mechanical issues, and he ran off.

The officer injured, was treated in hospital.

The suspect remains at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
