RCMP investigating sexual assaults at Pentz Elementary School

Lunenburg District RCMP is actively investigating a series of sexual offences that occurred at Pentz Elementary School, involving a former male employee and a child victim.

The incidents were reported on October 25, 2023, prompting an immediate response from authorities. The employee in question has not been present at the school since October 26, 2023.

The investigation, conducted jointly with Nova Scotia Child Welfare Services, uncovered additional victims through victim and witness interviews.

RCMP still believes there may be more victims and is appealing to parents and guardians to engage in open conversations with their children.

To aid the investigation, authorities are urging anyone with information or knowledge of additional incidents to contact Cpl. Matthew Leggett at 902-527-5555. Anonymity can be maintained by reaching out to Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

To protect the privacy of the victims, the name of the school employee will not be disclosed at this time.
