The Department of Public Works is ready for more snow.
Another 25 centimetres could fall in some areas beginning Tuesday afternoon, and a winter storm warning is in effect from Environment Canada.
Executive director of maintenance and operations Guy Deveau says they’ve been working hard to clean-up the last storm, which dropped over 100 centimetres on northeastern Nova Scotia.
“We’ve got all those roads widened and opened up, and we’re ready to get this additional snow with some storage space to put it,” said Deveau.
He says they’ve had help from other provinces and the federal government to widen roads and clear the massive snowfall from earlier this month.
Deveau says they have a dedicated staff, and they’ll be prepared to look out for Nova Scotians during this system.
“I’m sure some of the crews are tired, but we’ve had a couple days of slow-downs. Hopefully the crews have been able to get a bit of rest before we get hit with this storm.”
Our crews continue to work 24/7 to widen roads and remove snow from last week's storm.
The department has resupplied on salt, gas and parts.
