Lunenburg’s mayor admits she was startled following yesterday’s “violent incident” on Linden Avenue and Lower Street.
Rachel Bailey says the town isn’t immune to violence but adds, it rarely happens.
She says she doesn’t recall an incident like this happening while she’s been in office.
“I think this just speaks to the fact that this can happen anywhere. There are unfortunate incidents and they can happen in any community.”
Bailey says it was a job well done by police to secure the scene and make sure the number of people at risk was minimal.
She adds it’s not positive but feels incident doesn’t reflect what the town is about.
