The community of Liverpool is putting on a homecoming for some of its top athletes, most notably Sarah Mitton who recently won a gold medal in shot put at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
On Thursday, March 7, at Queens Place Emera Centre there will be a homecoming celebration followed by a meet and greet.
Joining Mitton will also be Special Olympics athletes from Lunenburg and Queens counties who are set to compete in the upcoming Special Olympics Winter Games in Calgary.
Everyone in the community is invited to attend, though seating will be limited.
The event will also be live-streamed on the Region of Queens Municipality Facebook page.
