Man in hospital after workplace injury at Port of Halifax

A workplace injury in Halifax has put a man in hospital in serious condition.

Police say it was Tuesday just after 1:30 p.m. on Marginal Rd. when the 61-year-old fell off a ladder.

According to Lane Farguson, Director of Communications and Marketing at the Port of Halifax, the man injured was a contractor working on behalf of a Halifax Port Authority tenant.

He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The Department of Labour Skills and Immigration say a stop work order has been issued for two companies:

PSA Halifax Limited Partnership and Cochrane’s Electrical Contracting.

They add that it is an ongoing investigation.
