Two ferries set to run between N.S. and P.E.I. this summer

Good news if you plan on taking the ferry to P.E.I. this summer.

Federal Minister of Housing Sean Fraser says MV Saaremaa 1 will help out with crossings.

The vessel will arrive from its home port in Quebec by mid-May, to begin service between the two provinces in June, until the permanent vessel, MV Fanafjord takes over.

Fraser says this will ensure two ferries will run on the critical corridor between Caribou N.S. and Wood Islands, P.E.I., during peak tourism season.

This comes after numerous mechanical issues on the MV Confederation last year, putting it out of commission for a good chunk of the summer.
