Shelburne courthouse moving to Barrington

Court will soon be in session in Barrington.

The satellite court will be relocated from the former municipal building in Shelburne to Barrington’s municipal office.

The province says the current facility is aging, the municipal office moved into a new building last year.

Justice Minister Brad Johns says keeping the service in the local area was a priority.

Barrington has previously hosted a satellite courtroom, and work to further outfit the courtroom is underway.

The last hearing in Shelburne will take place on Wednesday, while the first in Barrington is scheduled for April 10.
