SiRT and RCMP investigate crash that resulted in injuries

RCMP and the Serious Incident Response Team are both investigating a two-vehicle collision in Pictou that resulted in serious injuries.

Saturday afternoon police tried to stop a driver they suspected was impaired on Albert St.

Police say the vehicle continued on through several streets and sped up and passed other vehicles.

It collided with another vehicle at an intersection and both drivers were rushed to hospital.

The suspect, a 21-year-old woman was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and fight from police.

The collision has been referred to the SiRT which independently investigates all serious incidents which arise from the actions of police in Nova Scotia.
