Water restored after shutdown at QEII’s Halifax Infirmary

There was a water shutdown at the QEII’s Halifax Infirmary site.

It happened on Saturday following two earlier water main breaks in April that left the site without running water and heat for a couple of days.

In an email to our newsroom, Nova Scotia Health says it was “for approximately two hours to repair a small crack in a new coupling from the initial repair.”

“Water was restored and cleared for drinking following the work.”

The health authority says, “Defects in this type of new pipe are very rare – it is unlikely to happen again.”
