A 23-year-old, charged after escaping police custody last week has been sentenced to six months in jail.
Police spent several hours searching on December 28 for Shawn Kyle Debruin who had been arrested earlier in the day for dangerous driving.
The Bridgewater man plead guilty to four charges including operating a motor vehicle while being pursued by police and escape from lawful custody.
He was immediately taken to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Burnside where he is expected to remain until mid-May.
Debruin was also given 12 months probation and 40-hours community service to be served once he’s released.
