Election day in Pictou West

Voters head to the polls today in Pictou West.

MLA Karla MacFarlane announced her retirement last month.

Premier Tim Houston called the by-election April 21st.

The four nominated candidates are Clare Brett of the Green Party, Melinda MacKenzie of the New Democratic Party, Marco MacLeod of the Progressive Conservatives and Mary Wooldridge-Elliot of the Liberals.

Early voting began April 24th.

Voting will be open Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
