Mitton wins bronze at Diamond League Marrakesh

Liverpool’s Sarah Mitton has added a bronze medal to her trophy cabinet after her latest performance at the Diamond League event in Marrakesh Morroco.

Mitton recorded a throw of 19.36 metres, which earned her a spot on the podium behind German Yemisi Ogunleye (19.40 metres) and American Chase Jackson (20.00 metres).

Mitton came into the competition ranked third in the world. She also recorded the furthest throw of the year in womens competition earlier this month with a throw of 20.68 metres.

Mitton has already qualified for the Olympics this summer, by both world rankings, and by achieving the minimum required throw for entry.
