Boxing Rock named top brewery in Canada

Boxing Rock Brewery in Shelburne, N.S. has been named Canada’s best brewery by the Canadian Brewing Awards.

They are the first Atlantic Canadian brewery to win the award since 2011, when Fredericton, N.B.-based Pickeroons Brewery claimed it.

Boxing Rock also picked up some other hardware, earning three gold medals for the best beer in various categories.

They dominated the North American varieties, claiming gold in both the Blonde/White, NA Amber/Red categories as well as gold in the heavily contested IPA category.

Boxing Rock first opened for business in Shelburne in 2012. They’ve since gone on to open a retail location in Halifax.
