Dynamite Trail set to host party for International Trails day

The Dynamite Trail which is located in Lunenburg County is one of ten trails in Canada hosting parties as part of International Trails Day this coming weekend.

The event is taking place Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and will feature live music, food and events.

“This is a great event for regulars of the trail and newcomers to come to see what the Dynamite Trail has to offer, said Dynamite Trail Association volunteer Nigel Matthew. “It’s a small trail but we have some amazing water views, and historic bridges that in spite of being so close to Mahone Bay remain quiet and relaxing.”

The event will also include three guided tours of the trail- including a smaller loop under 4 kilometres and a guided bike ride.

There will also be 15 booths and exhibits ranging from local fitness groups to firefighters talking about trail and fire safety.

Most of the event activities will be taking place at the Dynamite Trail parking lot in Mahone Bay located at the corner of Wye and Welcome Streets.
