It’s Free Fishing Weekend across Nova Scotia

You can fish without a license this weekend in Nova Scotia.

The requirement for a license is being waived for the annual Free Fishing Weekend, which this year runs from June 1-2.

Free Fishing Weekend only counts for freshwater sources, including lakes rivers and streams.

Size restrictions and catch limits remain in place.

Anyone fishing on the ocean would still require the appropriate certifications.

On all other days during fishing season, anglers are required to have a fishing license which cost $34.80 and must be renewed annually.
