RCMP investigate home invasion in Digby County

RCMP are investigating a home invasion in Weaver Settlement.

Officers responded to a break-and-enter in progress at an Old Yarmouth Road residence shortly before 5:00 a.m. on June 6th.

Investigators learned that a man had forced his way inside and attempted to steal a vehicle before running off with cash and food.

The 68-year-old female resident sheltered in a bathroom and did not suffer physical injuries.

Police say the suspect is described as black and about 5-foot-8. He was last seen wearing a camouflage coat or sweater, a mask and green rubber boots.
