Lunenburg councilor Susan Sanford resigns

First-time councillor Susan Sanford attended her final Town of Lunenburg council meeting this week during which she officially resigned.

The resignation didn’t come as a surprise as Sanford had indicated months prior that she would be moving back home to the the valley.

As she will no longer reside within town limits she is no longer eligible for the role.

During her final council appearance, Sanford thanked the town and her fellow councillors for their time together and wished them well with future endeavours.

Sanford also said she waited for her resignation to be within the timeframe that a byelection would not need to be called. With municipal elections slated to take place this fall, her seat will instead be up for grabs along with all of the other council seats as part of the regular election.
