Update: Man wanted province wide arrested on Eastern Shore

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man wanted on a province-wide warrant on the Eastern Shore.

RCMP responded to a report of a man in distress at a home in the 100 block of West Petpeswick Road on Wednesday at about 9:30 p.m.

He damaged the home with an axe and ran into the woods.

On Thursday, officers maintained a presence at Eastern Shore District High School and advised Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital and The Birches of the operation.

They cleared several locations and structures in West Petpeswick and Musquodoboit Harbour.

On social media at about 1:00 p.m Saturday, RCMP said there was an increased police presence in the West Petpeswick Road area following a sighting of the man.

About an hour later they advised residents to not approach him and contact police immediately. They added that at that time, they believed there was no risk for the public.

At about 2:30 p.m. , RCMP posted an update saying that the man had been arrested without incident.
